Because I live in a neighborhood that’s uncared for, we really don’t have a lot of things for me to do here. Also, because I have a big family, we don’t have a lot of money. I am constantly reminded how hard it is to try to do everything that I want to do. But, my family and I work hard to do the things that I’m good at doing.
I went to art classes at a school called Marwen; I learned how to do pop up books, sketching and computer animation. Then, I worked with a non-profit art agency called RedMoon who worked with students at my school. Now, I want to go to Florence, Italy to the New York Film Academy in the summer of 2011. It’s really expensive and I can’t afford it right now, that is why I need your help. I want to go to new places and not live in the same place all of my life. I want to see new things. I want to make HISTORY one day.
I love film because I can express myself from behind the lens. I can show people what I see in the world. I can show the good and the bad that life has. I want to help people like me to know that there are different places, things and cultures to see. My goal is to create a portfolio to show my skills and talents. Hopefully, that can get me into a good college so that I can continue to work towards my goals of becoming a film maker and director. I want to be remembered by everyone for the beauty and good I’ve shown in my movies. One day, I hope that my neighborhood is not uncared for anymore. To do this, I need a vote of confidence and your generous donation.
