Unrelenting waves pound with listless rhythm,
A compelling caress honing its target.
They forge and reform with cruel apathy,
And impose their lessons on us all.

Yet, accompanied with such sweetness, who can resist?
It offers honey with its sting.
I invite the inseparable couple,
And learn my lesson well.

Left with open wounds still healing,
I seek the promised cure.
A tsunami corrects my naivete:
Its inaccessibility a lesson too!

Pain becomes the cure's only symptom,
And I cling to it with joy.
I caress my torment in despair,
And welcome the waves.
