Just kidding, its not actually about those things at all. While the series does center around the life (and death) of a pop star, her family, friends and fans, the unfolding story delves into the more sinister aspects of today's perception of fame and the damaging effects it has on the famous and all those surrounding them. All of the characters' secrets and agendas are forced to the surface because of a public tragedy and the story is about how they all cope with the struggles of their individual lives and how their struggles both tie them together, and tear them apart. The unfolding events challenge social norm, morality, and the narcissism and entitlement that has become a negative side effect of the epidemic of dependence on social media.

Writing mentors have told me more times than I could ever hope to count to 'write what I know.' The story is fictional but the inspiration for it comes from things I've seen and experienced with my own eyes and ears. Some of the characters are loosely based on people I've met who have had some type of effect on my life, whether it be positive or negative, and the intertwining storylines are inspired by all the times I've constantly tried to put myself in other people's shoes while trying to understand where they're coming from and why they do the things they do.
