The Winslow T2 Compost Tea Extractor is a patent pending compost tea extraction machine. Compost extract can be made at the rate of 275 gallons every 15 minutes with the Winslow T2.
Compost extract which is made from mature compost, can usually be kept 5-7 days if it is circulated and not allowed to settle out of suspension. The organisms in mature compost have been dormant because of lack of food supply they do not consume the air that active compost tea's require. It is the responsibility of the producer to monitor the tea for air content and overall suitability before any application.
For Best Results, spray undiluted extract on soil and activated extract on growing plants. Activated extract depending on altitude, temperature and amount of foods added is the addition of approximately 1.5 Oz's on humic acid, .75 oz of blackstrap non-sulfered organic molasses per 100 gallons of extract. Adjust for different amounts of material. This is the amount of food it takes to activate or wake up the microorganisms in most situations. After mixing the ingredients, the batch must sit on air 3-4 hours for the organisms to be activated for foliar application. When the organisms from dormant/mature compost as described before are sprayed on a leaf surface they simply wash off the leaf and run on to the ground if they don't have a chance to wake up where as activated tea's are awake and will attach to the surface, protect and stimulate the plant. Yucca and fish hydrolysate can also be used as a sticker spreader to insure the organisms stick before you spray tea and also supplies minerals and nitrogen. Remember that a batch will go anaerobic if you add to much food or stop circulating..
