The Forces of Renais and Their Allies

The Forces of Renais and Their Allies

The playable characters listed in this section are those lead by Erika and Ephraim as warriors of Renais, or those who have joined them in their resistance against Grado's onslaught.

• Erika (Lord) Erika, one of the two Lord character in Sacred Stones, is the princess of Renais, who has been forced to flee for her life as her land is invaded by Grado and her father slain. She is strong-willed and pure of heart, and well-loved by her people for her compassion and wisdom beyond her years. She seeks to locate her brother Ephraim and join forces with him in his guerilla war against Grado. Erika wields a Rapier with excellent skill, and is far more powerful than her previous game rapier predecessors (Roy and Eliwood).

• Ephraim (Lord) The crown prince of Renais, Ephraim, is engaged in guerilla war against Grado at the time of his father's death. Blaming himself for his inability to aid his father in that time of need, Ephraim journeys back towards his homeland in hopes of finding his sister, Erika, who has now disappeared in the wake of the invasion. Ephraim is passionate and headstrong, and well-liked for his candid, direct manner. He is the only member of the Lord class to begin by wielding Lance-type weapons, and is commonly considered the most powerful Lord character to be found in any Fire Emblem game.

• Seth (Paladin) Known as the Silver Knight, Seth is the general of the now-desolated Renais army, and the personal retainer to Erika. His loyalty is unmatched, as is his strength in the early game. Seth is the only useful Jegain-type character in the history of the series, and is by far the most powerful pre-promoted unit in Sacred Stones. His early game performance is unmatched, and his late-game performance remains quite competent. Combining this power with the advantage of being a mounted, speedy unit, Seth is one of the most useful characters in the game.

• Franz (Cavalier) Franz is a young, energetic knight in the service of Renais. His loyalty to Erika and Ephraim is surpassed only by that of Seth, and he strives to live up to his brother Forde's example. Franz is the Gold Knight of this game, yet is fairly weak for the role.

• Forde (Cavalier) Forde is the loyal retainer of Ephraim and eventually becomes the best friend of Kyle, despite their initial rivalry. He fights in a nonchalant, lighthearted manner, and has been known to paint artistic masterpieces during lulls in the course of battle. He is quite protective of his younger brother, Franz, and encourages him in his quest to be a great knight of Renais. Forde is the Red Knight of this game, and repeats the new precedent instroduced by FE7 of the Red Knight being speedy and skilled, yet lacking in strength, in contrary to classic tradition.

• Kyle (Cavalier) Kyle is a stern, loyal knight of Renais, and the over-protective retainer of Ephraim, along with his friend (though originally rival) Forde. Despite his disapproval of Forde's light-hearted attitude during battle, they remain close friends through thick and thin. Like Sain before him, he breaks the tradition of fast and skilled Green Knights by instead being a slow, powerful Green Knight.

• Amelia (Recruit) An orphan from a small Grado village, Amelia is a young girl inexperienced in combat. However, she learns quickly, and her honest, determined nature prove useful. In a support conversation with Dussel, her mother is still alive.

• Duessel (Great Knight) One of the imperial generals of Grado, Duessel is a courageous, popular general. His emperor named him the Obsidian, but he harbours doubts about Grado's war. He is the former lance instructor of Ephraim.

• Gilliam (Knight) An armored knight of Frelia. He's quiet, yet dependable. A friend of Syrene, he appears to harbor mild feelings for her.

• Dozla (Beserker) A middle aged man, Dozla is a hearty berserker of Rausten with an enormous thirst for life. He is full of energy, and lives to serve L'Arachel.

• Garcia (Fighter)

A villager from Renais. He was once a mighty military leader, but retired from the army when his wife died, in order to raise his son, Ross. He returned to service when the village was destroyed and Ross joined up.

• Gerik (Mercenary) The leader of a small group of mercenaries. He hails from Jehanna, and is a very experienced and skilled swordsman. He is better known as the Desert Tiger.

• Innes (Sniper) The prince of Frelia, he is famed for his immense skill with the bow. Innes is extremely brash and proud, and harbours an intense rivalry with Ephraim. At heart, however, he is good and just.

• Neimi (Archer) A young girl from Renais, a childhood friend of Colm. She is something of a crybaby, but is also a great shot with excellent senses. She was trained by the grandfather, a legendary archer.

• Ross (Journeyman) A young villager from Ide, son of Garcia. A rather wild and impetuous youth, he seeks to emulate his warrior father by becoming a great fighter.

• Colm (Thief) A young man from Renais, a childhood friend of Neimi. He is rather snide and arrogant, but genuinely cares for Neimi. He is also quite proud of his thieving prowess.

• Joshua (Myrmidon) A wandering swordsman from Jehanna with a fervor for gambling. He is revealed to be the Prince of Jehanna, who disappeared about ten years prior to the beginning of the story, abandoning both his mother and his title so he could better learn about his people's needs and become worthy of the crown in his own eyes. During this time he worked with Caellach in a mercenary troop, and appears to have earned a penchant for stirring up trouble off the job.

• Marisa (Myrmidon) Marisa is aloof and detatched, but is also a master of the blade, known as the Crimson Flash for her great speed. She is a member of Gerik's group, and is also from Jehenna. She seeks to surpass her father, also a great swordmaster. She is somewhat clumsy in all things not connected to fighting.

• Rennac (Rogue) Rennac is the son of a merchant from Carcino. He is lazy, greedy and uncaring, but is also an excellent fighter. He was hired by L'Arachel as an escort, though he constantly laments that, despite her wealth, she never actually feels the need to pay him.

• Artur (Monk) A monk from Renais, ordered to help destroy the monsters plaguing the land. He is simple, straighforward, and uncompromisingly pious.

• Ewan (Pupil) Saleh's student, he is also the younger brother of Tethys and part of Gerik's troop. Ewan is a mage-in-training with much potential, according to Saleh. He is quick-witted and excitable.

• Knoll (Shaman) One of Grado's royal mages, Knoll aided Lyon in his research into the Dark Stone. Knoll is kindhearted and very intellectual, but is made secretive by the troubling knowledge he holds.

• L'Arachel (Troubador) The Princess of Rausten, Niece of Mansel, its Pontifex and lord. She fights for justice and order, to emulate her parents who died doing the same. She is totally self-obsessed, egotistical, and even downright fanatical.

• Lute (Mage) An extremely studious, if eccentric, young mage, Lute believes she is a prodigy, and tells everyone she meets exactly this. However, given her enormous knowledge, it is hard to argue with her.

• Moulder (Priest) A mature priest of Frelia, Moulder is gentle and reassuring. Well trusted by the king, he is sent to aid Eirika.

• Natasha (Cleric) A beautiful cleric from Grado, forced to flee due to her master's discovery of Grado's plan to destroy the Sacred Stones. She is graceful and serious.

• Saleh (Sage) Grandson of the Chief Elder of Caer Pelyn, Saleh is an accomplished magic user. He is solemn and intellectual, but is quite generous. He is teaching Ewan the magical arts.

• Cormag (Wyvern Rider) The brother of Glen, an imperial general, Cormag is actually rather gentle, conscientious man. However, in battle he is an extremely ferocious and powerful fighter.

• Syrene (Falcoknight) Sister of Vanessa, Syrene is a famous Pegasus knight. She is the commander of their third battalion, renowned for her beauty, skill, and courage.

• Tana (Pegasus Knight) The princess of Frelia and sister of Innes, she joined the army in order to accompany her friends and brother to war. She is cheery, sociable, a little airheaded, and appears to harbor a crush on Ephraim.

• Vanessa (Pegasus Knight) Sincere, honest, and honorable, she is one of Frelia's Pegasus knights. She is Syrene's sister, and harbours a crush on her Prince, Innes.

• Myrrh (Manakete) A young, pure-hearted girl from Darkling Woods. She tends to be shy. The people of Caer Pelyn call her the "Great Dragon," however, she dislikes this title. Daughter of Morva.

• Tethys (Dancer) Another member of Gerik's group, Tethys is the sister of Ewan. She is a beautiful, charming dancer, and also is a native of Jehenna.
