Trichotillomania-an impulse to pull ones hair; including: Eyelashes, pubic and facial hair.


The defining characteristic of Trichotillomania is the recurrent, compulsive pulling out of one's own hair, often resulting in observable hair loss. Usually, but not always, the scalp and/or face are the primary locations for hair pulling.

-Trichotillomania affects people of all ages and genders though in adults, females are affected more than males

-Children as young as 12 months old have been diagnosed with Trichotillomania

-There is no medical cure for Trichotillomania
