We started from Anchorage and got across the Canadian border. Famous
last words around 7pm: “I’m feeling good-I think we can keep driving.”

We stopped in the next two small towns, but all businesses were shut
down for the night. At 1am , we found a rustic (read: “dumpy”) hunting
lodge in Haynes Junction (600 miles from Anchorage) that was still open.
I think we underestimated how undeveloped northwestern Canada is.
