Students from Charleston Elementary’s 4th and 5th grades helped their principal, Lou Ruiz, present their school site report to the Los Banos Unified School District School Board, on Thursday, April 10, 2008. During the presentation, Mr. Ruiz and the students spoke about Charleston’s academic success and the many activities and events that take place during the school year at Charleston Elementary. Students also spoke about their school garden and the Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Project. Mrs. Watkins’ 5th grade class recently won 2nd place in the state for their Jiminy Cricket Environmentality Project. Disney representatives will be visiting Charleston Elementary on May 20, 2008 to provide music, games and to reward Mrs. Watkins’ 5th grade class for their accomplishments. Charleston students ended their presentation by speaking about the many unique characteristics they enjoy about their school.
