Opting For Direct Downloads When Downloading PC

The problem with downloading games over the internet is that you never know where to find a reliable download site. I want direct downloads and not torrents. Good thing that I was able to find this site in here: http://downloadgamesfreenow.com. Unlike other PC game download sites, they offer direct download links and not torrent links.
Torrents have several disadvantages as compared to direct downloads, which is why I hate it. With torrents, the download would continue no matter how slow the internet is. But I don’t see this as an advantage to me. You see, downloads aren’t a problem for my internet connection is very fast. The problem I have with torrents is that it would use up a lot of resources when downloading a file.
Another thing I don’t like about using torrents to download games is that it is unsafe. With direct downloads, I can scan the download link and see if it is safe or not. With torrents, you can only know whether it is a safe file or not when you have finished downloading it. Moreover, torrent files would sometimes include adware and spyware. The worst thing of all is that others can see my IP address. Thus, they will know what I am doing.
