IN MEMORY OF

Raymond E. D'Addario

CWO US Army, Retired

December 8, 1930 - August 19, 2008

Ray was not only a military hero but a hero in his personal life as well. Duty and honor were a basic part of his character. As a young man he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Alaska. After his enlistment was up , he joined the U.S. Army from which he retired. His tours of duty in the army took him to Korea and Viet Nam and, after the wars, to other interesting places in the world before he retired again.

Ray was a very honorable man, devoted to his wife and family and one who loved and appreciated his friends. He will be greatly missed.

May his soul rest in peace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Death, it is claimed, is life's greatest friend,
It conquers and brings all pain to an end;
Death means a change or turning a page,
Often it serves as a balm for old age.
Death should be welcomed not shrouded in fear,
It is only the end of an earthly career;
A sign or a symbol we've finished, we're through,
Exchanging a life for a life that is new.
Death is part of God's work, of His plan,
A part that is hard to grasp, understand;
We believe there is beauty far more than is seen,
In the grave, in the mounds that are oval and green.
Death is essential, we deem it required,
Yet few can accept it as something desired;
The way that our Savior has planned it to be,
Will serve as a blessing for you and for me.
God, and His wisdom, selected this plan,
To change the formation He's making in man;
Death He is using to banish, subdue
The part in the man He is making anew.
The curtain, when lifted, that's shrouding the tomb,
Will leave not a shadow resembling gloom;
Death only opens the way to the goal,
The gate to the mansion, the home of the soul.
Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me.
In my Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, would I have told you that
I go to prepare a place for you?
And when I go to prepare a place for you,
I will come again and take you to myself,
that where I am you may be also.
