Creating a Web Page
Kompozer
Kompozer is a open source Web development editor built on the NVU
architecture. Because of its editing capabilities that are found in
high-end programs like Microsoft FrontPage, Adobe DreamWeaver, and
other, Kompozer attracts users. An advantage of using this Web
development tool is that is easy to use for non-technical computers
users, users that could create a web site without knowing HTML or web
coding. In addition, this editor permits direct code editing and
split code graphic view. It is an accessible free ware program.
Features
Features of Kompozer are FTP site manager means that the sites in the
publishing settings become browsable in a side bar, automated spell
checkers, customizable toolbars etc.Limitations
Kompozer is easy to use which makes it accessible to a larger
amount of users but it has its limitations. One of the limitations is
that the Html code of the program does not allowed to do any serious
coding. Complex work like complex tables is another limitation in
Kompozer.
Adobe Dreamweaver
Adobe Dreamweaver is a web development application. It was originally
created by Macromedia acquired by Adobe Systems in 2005. Dreamweaver is
available for both Mac and Windows operating systems.
Features
It has file management tools such as FTP/ SFTP, WebDAV file transfer,
syncronization, the ability tto find and replace lines of text or code,
use of basic JavaScript without any coding knowlodge etc. Limitations
Dreamweaver is a complex aplication.The price of this appliction is not
accesible for all the types of users reason why for easier Web designes
this web development tool is not recomended.
Microsoft Office FrontPage
Microsoft FrontPage or Microsoft Office FrontPage is a HTML editor and
a web site administration tool designed by Microsoft for the Microsoft
operating systems. It was part of Microsoft Office from 1997 to 2003.
This application was replaced by Microsoft Expression Web and Sharepoint Designer in 2006.
Features
The last version of the FrontPage consists in a new Split view option,
Dynamic Web templates, intellisense, interactive buttons etc.
Intellisense is a form of autocompletion that assists the user in the
Code View. Interactive buttons help the user by making it easier to
create web graphics for navigation and links.
Limitations
The disk usage, the FrontPage extension, and the web size are some of
the limitation of FrontPage. The disk usage of FrontPage in
comparison with Unix accounts where can be created and
published many child webs is lower just up to 5 child
webs. If used an UNIX account, there
are precautions that need to be taken to protect the FrontPage
extensions.
