Shadows loom over headstones
whispers are heard from far away,
off into the distance you hear them pray.
With their heads bowed as sweet beats down
each of their brows.

Kneeling, pleading to their Gods
who give all to devour their souls
for eternal power.

Into the night their hearts give way to fleet
beating for dear life.
Darkness devours all with delight
as its da lush overruns taking in all light.

"The Greek Gods we’re believed to gain power through prayer this poem is a metaphor of their power."
