Meaningful Topics I Learned in CISB11
This class for me
was a pretty good experience. The main
reason that I had taken this class was because I needed credits and no classes
were available. I am glad that I did
end up taking this class because I did learn some good things! Things learned that could help me now and
also in the future!
One of the things that stuck out
most to me was Microsoft excel. This is
also known as the spreadsheet. Many
people use these everyday for their personal use and even for their jobs. The main thing these are used for is keeping
track of data. Lets say you are using
it for a work well you can keep track of your inventory on this nice
sheet. Lets say you are starting to
workout well you can use this to keep track of the reps and sets that you
complete. This is very useful and can
be used daily.
Another thing that we talked a lot
about in class that caught my interest was getting computer security. We talked a lot about hackers and people who
want to just steal others identity. This is a horrible thing that happens day
by day to people who do not have security on their computer. Ever since we started talking about this I
am a lot more careful about the decisions I make on the Internet. I make sure
that if any popup's occur I actually read them before clicking anything. This will help me now and in the future as
well. This is a great thing to know and
learn!
We learned a lot of things in the
class but some things just stood out among the others quite a bit. Another thing that stood out was learning
how to make a website. A website can be
used all the time! Lets say you want to
advertise something like to sell it or just make it known to people. Well this is a great way to do it. You can make a website and all people would
have to do is look up a word in Goggle and your website could pop up. This is a great advantage that we who have
learned how to make a website now have.
Even people who are working for a company have to sometimes make a
website to sell items. This makes
things a lot easier to sell because now the consumer can see pictures as well
as information. This is a great thing
to learn how to do.
Last but not least another thing
that I am sure I will be using is Linux.
Linux is a system that you can install/download that can run as lets say
like Microsoft word. The best thing about downloading a Linux on your computer
is to help against viruses. Lets say
that the Linux gets a virus. Well the
worst thing that can happen is it gets a virus. All you have to do is simply take that system off your computer
and download the program again or use another one. This is a great idea because instead of the virus killing your
computer it gets to the Linux system.
This can save you hundreds of dollars if not thousands. I do not use this now but I am sure I will
in the future with my career. I will
have a computer for business and a computer for fun. The computer for business I will have a Linux on it.
