Following the gig, Kim was playing taxi run for that Harrogate crowd [bless her cottons] and so i remained in Leeds and walked the Coach station to make sure my

departing time tomorrow for London.  I needed to kill an hour or so although Jon was occupied following the gig, then your text came: ‘I come in Brown’s’. I'd never

pret

heard about it and that i know Leeds reasonably well. I fortunately thought it was and located Jon inside. So far as I had been concerned, this may be the finest

evening of my existence. Mr. Tim Jupp is at the bar too and up for grabs would be a chap known as Mowf [unsure around the spelling], his lovely wife Michelle [I

believe - sorry Mrs. Mowf if the wrong!] along with a pint of Peroni awaiting me. Stu G became a member of us 5 minutes - works out he's a Guinness guy and that i was

grateful that Jon wasn't - that stuff does indeed make my mind spin. Mow would be a great guy, another bass player too - I'd really seen him play in a night time

signing for ‘It’s OK’ at Manchester HMV years back, filling for Jon who had been in a wedding. I recall being so disappointed that Jon was absent that evening, but

everything for any reason - I'd something to speak to Mowf about tonight, ten years later. We spoken about Delirious gigs of history and guitars mainly, the best

subject. So there' was, speaking to the best bass player on the planet, and perhaps among the finest guitarists in the world about our particular guitar collections

showing one another the images on our phones. I stored pinching myself at regular times.

What exactly could they be such as these heroes of mine? Stu G was very tired I possibly could tell. I believe he was searching toward the coach, but we spoken

concerning the frozen treats trade I had been in, his future existence following the band and also the town of Nashville [Kim and that i have there been on Honeymoon

in 2007]. I requested him what he earned from the Leeds crowd: ‘They were great however the on-stage energy was better in Edinburgh and Birmingham…’ that's it, in the

horse’s mouth. Jon i'm happy to report is very dissimilar to his on-stage persona. He was one's heart-and-soul in our table - laughing, joking and telling tales about

gigs, family and guitar gear. Younger crowd was adamant on obtaining the next round in despite protests from Mowf and myself. He appeared to become the type of guy

that everybody want like a mate. Further discussion was round the points of my mad week on trains and buses, the strange and wonderful Delirious wardrobe 1996 -2009

and Ripley Frozen Treats, the household business. Jon have been ‘researching me’ [his words] since Bristol. ‘Yeah, I understand about you man…. You've been stalking me

so it is now my turn!’ Touché!

I requested Jon regarding their final tour week: 'Are explore tired of the view of tour buses now following the last 17 years?!' 'No way!' he responded. 'When this

really is over I believe it's certainly one of individuals a few things i will miss probably the most about touring. It is a strange dynamic because although you're in

this small space with 15 others, it's nice engaging in mattress because that's your parking space and yours alone - you are able to allow the rocking motion give back

to rest. The only real really annoying factor happens when some joker nicks your duvet in the center of the evening and you've got to look public transit for that

reason in just your boxers!' Not the response I'd imagined then...

Because the time came to allow them to catch the coach to London, everybody necked their drinks [except me, I'm weak only at that kind of factor] and that we headed to

the venue. Exactly what a evening, and exactly what a completely great couple of people I'd the organization of. Once we left Jon stated the immortal words:

‘Stu G - we are able to get Owen in to the after-show tomorrow can’t we?’ I nearly fell over as Stu G nodded her head. ‘And Hairpiece too’ he stated. Unbelievable.

There actually are not what so I won't even attempt to express the emotion the British language is totally insufficient at this time. I'll just tell I'm still a little

weak within the knees now.

I'd skipped the final bus and train to Harrogate a very long time earlier at night however i hardly cared because the taxi fare ticked on passed £30. I ended feeling

guilty about the price of all of this a couple of days ago, the MasterCard will require proper care of it to any extent further - this is really ‘priceless’.

In other news, Wales got spanked through the Aussies in the Millenium Stadium and also the impromptu interview with Stu G and Jon in Bristol had managed to get onto

Stu's blog... world wide Less bad when i thought in the end...

I didn't sleep perfectly last evening following the occasions in Leeds however it was up early for Chapel - we rent a screen within an Odeon cinema and also you seem

like you have carried out a complete day’s work before noon on the Sunday with the humping of equipment up and lower stairs but fortunately we've fantastic tech team

which do the majority of the job, week in, week out. To my relief I wasn't leading worship too. I didn't possess the voice in the end these gigs! Rather fitting that

‘Majesty’ was around the set today too. After worship I thrown my guitar lower and legged it across the direction to Harrogate stop [Yep, I figured I had been carried

out with trains too, but no]. I made the bond for that 561 coach to London with 4 minutes to spare once i literally sprinted across Leeds. I vowed after i graduated

which i would not use National Express coaches again [the 561 was my frequent coach back and forth from London] since they're dreadful, the worst method for you to

possibly travel within the United kingdom for me - Hot, sweaty, slow, and being rude, obnoxious and unfriendly is really a pre-requisite to get employment like a

driver - but it was one instance that I had been prepared to make the best like a train could have been an extortionate £110. I managed to get to Hammersmith, got a

bit of free Wi-Fi in Pret and anxiously waited for Hairpiece because the lots of d:fans flooded past. I was set for a significant evening.

The queue in the venue was a long I'd seen anywhere before a gig. credit It snaked around while watching doorways before vanishing nearby, stretching for 8 blocks

approximately. The outdoors from the venue would be a hive of activity more consistent with a movie premiere than the usual band finale. Whenever we finally got inside

beyond the TV camera deck hands and all sorts of mayhem the Leading Edge set had been arrived. We required our place at the rear of the area underneath the balcony and

required everything in as it were. It was a venue filled with true die-hard fans and in lots of ways, it was the band's home gig as there's been no South-coast date

around the tour. Tunes were being congratulated after just a couple of bars of intro - the outlet didgeridoo loop of 'Did You Are Feeling the Mountains' elevated an

especially large cheer. Throughout now, I've been in a position to say 'at least I'll hear these tunes 4 occasions more, three occasions more, two times more....' but

this actually was the before for me personally and everybody else. There is an additional special feel towards the Apollo using its huge stage and large ceiling and

also the crowd were filled with 'last opportunity to see' expectation and hype. It was possibly the nearest factor I'd ever look into individuals beginning of gigs in

class halls because they performed the classics of the items Martin calls 'the people movement'. '..Mountain tops..', 'Not Ashamed' and 'I Could Sing of the Love' and

dare I only say it, 'The Happy Song' have been performed through the band for that final time - possibly the mandolin warrants a complete and proper funeral in

Martin's backyard - incidentally, the tired black Yamaha acoustic had managed to get through the tour too. The wedding area of the set was 'Dance within the River' in

which the Delirious kids became a member of this guitar rock band on stage, resembling a college choir - I believe I counted 17 kids around the stage between your 5

band people all I'm able to have to say is that there has to be something within the water lower Littlehampton way... and also to think these CE tunes were written

prior to a number of these kids were born.
