The
Citizen Participation Program was created by Washington County by
Resolution and Order No 86-58 adopted on June 3rd, 1986.
The
philosophy of citizen participation in county government improves the
decision-making process, democratizes and humanizes political and social
institutions, increases the responsiveness of governmental institution,
generates a greater variety of information and alternatives to citizen,
public officials, elected officials and enhances individual and group
awareness and civic participation.
