City Council again rejects budget

(Indeonline.com)

By a 5-4 vote, City Council dumped Mayor Cicchinelli’'s proposed operating budget for the second time.
The city would shutdown if a budget isn’'t passed before April 1 and is at risk of falling into fiscal emergency as defined by Ohio Revised Code.
Council members Gary Anderson (2), Kathy Catazaro-Perry (3), Tony Townsend (4), Donnie Peters (5) and Larry Slagle (at-large) cast an identical vote on what amounts to an identical budget that was first considered and rejected Dec. 20.
Councilmen Paul Manson (at-large), Ron Mang (1), David Hersher(at-large) and Dave McCune (6) voted in favor of the budget plan.
State law requires the city to pass a balanced budget by month’s end or shutdown all City services.
