Notes from: September 11.2009.

We are going to create our AngelFire accounts and upload all of our work tonight. We will then create hyperlinks to all of our pages from the index page. In other words the index page will serve as the directory for all pages.

Your AngelFire website adress will be https://clavista092688.angelfire.com/ http://clavista092688.angelfire.com

In Order to Start DreamWeaver Follow these instructions Start Programs adobe DreamWeaver CS4 DreamWeaver will be used as a TOOl for uploading our files to our angelfire account.Think of it as the middle man.

Done.

You will see a mirror of your thumb drive contents on the right pane

Changes made to a page that are saved are saved locally to our local disk(thumb drive)
We need to replace the file currently on the web server with the one we just made changes to.

September 18, 2009 NOTES

Set up Site through Dreamweaver connecting to Angel fire what ever we do with our files in the file panel within Dreamweaver is reflected on the actual local disk itself. Example if we copy and paste a file through the files panel then that new new file will be on our disk. When we make changes to a file and save it, we need to go to the files panel in dreamweaver and upload it using the put icon which is an up arrow. All files need to be saved with lower case and ABSOLUTELY NO SPACES to avoid any conflicts.

Dreamweaver will copy the file structure to the Angel fire server. For example if we upload our classwork file and it is contained within a classwork folder then the folder gets uploaded as well. When creating links we must put the entire path of the file. For example is a file is inside a folder them we need to include the folder name in the path of the link. Please see class notes for screenshots.

When linking to an external link, meaning a link that is not inside of our website then we put the full qualifier path.... for example if we want to link CNN's Home Page the link will look like this CNN If we want the page to open in a new window it will look like this CNN
