Introduction

John Fitzgerald Kennedy Served as the 35th president of the United States of America. Kennedy's military service during World War II in the South Pacific, his aspirations turned political. With the encouragement grooming of his father, Kennedy represented Congressional District 11 in the House of Representatives from 1947 to 1953 as a Democrat, and served in the US Senate  from 1953 until 1960. Kennedy later defeated Vice President and Republican candidate Richard Nixon in the 1960 election, one of the closest in American history. His assassination in 1963 was a shock to the U.S, being the youngest president in America history. J.F.K gained support of many minority groups and was the only president a member of the catholic church.

Born in Brookline, Massachusetts, to an irish family. His father, Joseph Kennedy, Sr., was an investor. When JFK was ten, his family moved to New Yorkwhere he was sent to Choate, a prestigious Connecticut boarding school.JFK attended Harvard between 1936 and 1940, while his father was serving as Ambassador to Great Britain. JFK felt overshadowed by his older brother, Joseph Kennedy, Jr., who was regarded as their father's favorite.JFK was elected to the House of Representatives from Massachusetts in November 1946. He served in the House for six years. The Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union came to dominate world politics.In 1948, JFK was diagnosed with Addison's Disease, a fatal condition. Treatments helped him to fight the disease, and his condition was never revealed to the general public.
