Organized Konfusion remains one of the most admired and respected duos of all time. Comprised of Pharoahe Monch and Prince Po, Organized released their first album "Organized Konfusion" in 1991, before some of you reading this were old enough to comprehend the lyrics. Although the O.K album received critical acclaim as a masterpiece, like most artists ahead of their time, never received the commercial success to match their groundbreaking talent. Organized would release another album in 1994, "Stress : The Extinction Level Agenda," which also received major praise from critics and fans world wide. In 1997, the group release "The Equinox" which again was embraced by the Hip Hop community as a classic. Unfortunately, the group split and the two went their separate ways to pursue solo project.
Although they may have never achieved huge commercial success, Organized Konfusion single handedly created a whole genre and style of Hip Hop that would later be adopted by some of today's most prominent emcees. Pharoahe and Prince were ahead of their time by at least 10 years, combining complex rhyme patterns, intelligent lyrics, and deep concepts in an era when the Hip Hop landscape was dominated by West Coast thuggery. Today, Pharoahe is hailed as one of the illest emcees period. If you truly appreciate quality Hip Hop, then do yourself a favor and go buy their albums.
