Oscar De La Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao- Although his December 6 "Dream Match" against Manny Pacquiao is still 3 weeks away, Oscar De La Hoya says he is already two pounds under the 147lb contract weight. Oscar said yesterday that the fight is personal due to Pacman betraying him on a promotional agreement. The Golden Boy added that he would be "extremely disappointed" if he doesn't knock out Pacquiao. "It would be a total disaster," he stated.

Ricky Hatton vs Paulie Malignaggi-”Defensively, he’s horrible,” Malignaggi said today. “I don’t know if he’s ready for a boxing match.” The “Magic Man” went on to say, “You know what I’m gonna do? I’m gonna beat his ass—that’s what I’m gonna do. Saturday night, he’s not going to win this fight.” Hatton promised a “new and improved” come Saturday. “In the last couple fights, there’s been no method to the madness,” he said. “But I’lll show that I have this boxing ability, I’ve had it but I don’t always use it. You’re going to see a lot more polished Ricky Hatton.” Stay tuned for stories on Hatton and Malignaggi tomorrow.

Ivan Claderon-Fightnews.com caught up with unbeaten WBO 108lb champion Ivan Calderon to talk boxing while at the 2008 WBO Convention in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. During the conversation, Calderon (32-0, 6 KOs), a certain Hall of Famer who has rarely lost a round in his career, let alone a fight, said he's poised to retake the 105lb belt he previously held and also has aspirations to seize the title at 112lbs to become a rare three division champ.

The Next Great Champion-"Light heavyweight is a tradition-rich weight division in Germany," says trainer Michael Timm. "'The Tiger' Dariusz Michalczewski and 'Gentleman' Henry Maske, with their magnificent world title successes in professional boxing over the last 15 years made us great. Jürgen Brähmer can follow in those footsteps. We are very optimistic." Brähmer (31-1, 25 KOs) will have a chance to prove whether he really is 'The Hundred Year Talent' on Saturday night when he challenges WBA light heavyweight champion Hugo Garay (31-3, 17 KOs) for the world title at the Stadthalle in Rostock, Germany. In preparation for the fight, Brähmer sparred with ex-world champion Byron Mitchell. "Unfortunately, Byron did not quite mke it through," stated Brähmer. "Two days before the end of the sparring phase last week, he had suddenly had enough of me."
