The operation is quite fascinating for many and for others; they may never look at extensions, weaves and wigs exactly the same again.

Whenever you purchase products produced from human hair, the hair is really produced from real humans. Humans in 3rd world countries, mostly from Asia (China and India) will sell their long locks for the money. European hair is extremely popular these days but the texture doesn't match most hair texture of African American women which is why most afro weaves are made from real Indian human hair, Brazilian real hair or just plain old synthetic hair.

When women in these third world countries want to sell their hair, the buyers will actually suggest that the women do their best to have their hair healthy. The instructions to have their hair healthy are: eat a nutritious diet, refrain from using too many products and especially no heat appliances. For many women the heat appliances and products are not the problem, the problem is a healthy diet plan. The donors are usually very young women and virgin Indian hair is ideal. Virgin hair means that it has never been chemically treated. Virgin is one of the most expensive types available on the market.

Often when you are purchasing "human hair blend" a combination of real and synthetic strands. Within the 1960's yak hair was used in weaves and unfortunately yak hair were built with a horribly musky odor to it that could't be washed away. This kind was once referred to as "Yaki" weaves and was created by the Koreans but today the term "Yaki" is not to do with the animal anymore but has more to do with the feel of the hair. Yaki is really a more enjoyable texture of hair although not as relaxed because the "silky" texture that is usually Asian.

Today's' cheap and imported best weave hair use real human strands but due to the poor quality the price may also be significantly lower. Low quality hair doesn't tolerate much actual wearing, styling and washing. Quality real hair costs quite a bit more but can be worth a pretty penny.
