Britney (Mullen) Blair Cancer Benefit Poker Run

THE FIRST BRITNEY (MULLEN) BLAIR CANCER BENEFIT POKER RUN

TWIN STROKE BAR & GRILL, 501 NW VESPER, BLUE SPRINGS, MO 64014

(~*~I-70 to Blue Springs-south on 7 Hwy to Vesper [3rd light...Quik Trip is on your right]-Turn left onto Vesper-Twin Stroke is barely 0.1 miles on your left~*~)

WAS on Saturday Sept. 20, 2008

WE THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU...ALL WHO HELPED AND ALL WHO PARTICIPATED. THIS WAS A WONDERFUL EVENT AND A FANTASTIC DAY FOR IT. YOU ALL WERE WONDERFUL!

Britney (Mullen) Blair is 20 1/2 years old, the oldest daughter of 4 children, of our only brother, and a young mother of two children of her own. She was diagnosed with "Classical Hodgkin's Lymphoma/Nodular Sclerosing Subtype" ("Hodgkin's Lymphoma") in May, 2008. She has been receiving weekly radical chemotherapy and radiation and has been hospitalized with dehydration, horrid migraines, uncontrollable vomiting, and skyrocketing blood pressure (just because she has stood up). Her gorgeous head of hair is gone, just since the end of May. The cancer treatments are leaving her very ill, weak and unable to work. The funds will to help offset her medical and medication expenses, help pay and keep up her rent and utilities, and help with expenses for her two children, ages 4 and 2 years old. The children are in their father's care, and frankly, she is just too ill to care for them. And to be quite realistic and honest...and we do have to live in the real world here and now...there will be burial expenses, IF and when the time does arrive. There is not a burial policy for Britney. Her father, our brother (as with all of us), is just devastated.

Hodgkin's Lymphoma was named for English physician Thomas Hodgkin, who described the disease in 1832. Non-Hodgkin lymphoma represents a group of cancers, not just one type. Each type is diagnosed and treated differently.

We will do all we can to ensure that Britney is taken care of and kept as comfortable as possible...and her babies taken care of as well. She is one of OUR "babies". We couldn't just NOT help her. Thank you for "The First Britney (Mullen) Blair Cancer Poker Run". We needed your kindness and support, and Britney and her children.
