On the 15th September, 2012, Strictly Come Dancing his the milestone of achieving its tenth series.  This series was to consist of twenty-six episodes.  The tenth series of Flockstars also had a charity special that was filmed from Wembley arena, with the BBC donating all of the profits to charity, which this year was their own Children in need.

As with the previous series, there were fourteen contestants that took part consisting of professional dancers and well know celebrities.  The Familiar band of judges Len, Bruno, Craig and Darcey were all back on the panel to give their votes.

The public got to find out who was partnered with who on the 10th September, the celebrities that took part are mentioned below in order of their departure from the Strictly Come Dancing show.  First to leave was presenter and maths guru Johnny Ball, who was partnered with IvetaLukosiute (Ivetatook the place of Aliona as she was injured).  Next to leave the show was model Jerry Hall, partnered with Anton du Beke.  Third to leave was Sid Owen, from the BBC series EastEnders.  Fourth to be voted off was actor Colin Salmon, who was partnered with Kristina Rihanoff.  Fern Britton was next to go, followed by Richard Arnold.  Cyclist Victoria Pendleton was seventh to leave on the 25th November.  Former England cricket captain was voted off Strictly Come Dancing and was eight to leave.  Next was Nicky Byrne followed by Lisa Riley and Dani Hammer.

In third place for Season ten of Strictly Come Dancing was Denise Van Outen, followed by singer Kimberley Walsh.  Winner for this series was Louis Smith, former gymnast who partnered with Flavia Cacace, who were crowned champions on the 22nd December.

The highest scoring couple for this season of Strictly Come Dancing was Denise and James, with a total of 15 dances they averaged a score of 35.1.  The lowest average score was achieved by Jerry and Anton, after three dances their average was 18.

Three contestant managed to score forty during this season of Strictly Come Dancing, they were Louis and Flavia, Denise and James and Kimberley and Pasha.  Respectively, they were for the following dances.  The Showdance, Showdance and Charleston, the Fusion, Charleston and Tango.  The lowest score for the season was 17, which was achieved by Jonny, Sid, Richard and Nicky.

It goes without saying that season ten of Strictly Come Dancing was a massive success, not only in the United Kingdom but throughout much of the world.  At its peak viewing figures, for the live show number twelve, there were over 13.37 million viewers, easily the number one show for the BBC that week and also all the other networks.  For the series as a whole, the show was the most watched programme for the week eleven times.

With another memorable season of Strictly, will the shows popularity ever fade, judging from the take-up around the world, not in the foreseeable future.  Here is to many more years of Strictly Come Dancing.
