Joker vs Joker

           by Eric Jones

The question bound to end up etched in the drywall above every water cooler in every computer geek entrenched cubical farm where it is (one assumes) that geeks hang out is 'which Joker is better?' Tim Burton’s smile encrusted mobster-turned-psycho or the Heath Ledger/Christopher Nolan concoction that has the world spread eagle and begging for more of ‘The Dark Knight’

Well, if you’re asking me then you’re asking the right man and that’s going get you points on the geekometer. Good job. So let’s attack this quandary right where it hurts: in the balls.

SPECIAL INFEST-igation Report:

Maxwell Douglas reports on a new bug discovered in Rochester, North Carolina which has already caused one terrifying case of self-mutilation!

Demodex Pacis    With Nancy Goodall’s stern-as-silver composure one could scarcely believe her to be capable of horrible acts she inflicted upon herself on the night of April 14th of this year. She calls it “The day I lost my mind” as she sits in the loft of her eloquently decorated two-story suburban manner. Nancy sits cross-legged over-looking the dense and endless tree tops of Rochester, North Carolina. She is wearing a beige pantsuit with a tea cup in one hand and its matching saucer pinched between the thumb and forefinger of her left hand, the only two remaining fingers after the surgery that saved her from bleeding to death.  (Would You Like To Know More?...)

NOW SHOWING IN OUR FILM SECTION!

Brainipulation is all about tantalizing your thought bubbles through a variety of mediums. If you're a fan of stage productions and want to perform plays which have never been done before than Eric Jones is the man you should be talking to. Both plays shown here were written for the 2006 and 2008 '24 Hour Plays'  Festival in Milledgeville and performed by the Georgia College & State University Theatre Department. They represent a talent for on-demand theatre and production that you can't find anywhere else.

Erin Burnett in 'The I'm Alone'

"A chance for writers to really see their work being done in a matter of twenty four hours is a fantastic experience, with all of the intensity of live theatre being magnified about fifty times."

KUNG - FU PANDA raises the bar for McDonald's Happy Meal toys!

"Feel the Thundaaaaaa!!!!"                          kung fu panda

Ha, ha, ha, yes it’s only me, but I can’t stop saying it. The lovable Jack Black has done it again with his merry band of hilarious quotables in Kung-Fu Panda. This is another crafting by the company that brought you Madagascar and Shrek, and if you know anything about them it’s not the movie that counts. It’s the advertising!

This outing totes the kind of star power that you love to have when lifting off a power house summertime hit like Kung-Fu Panda; Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Lucy Liu, and Jackie Chan to name a few. And although they’re used to almost no effect in the actual film they draw a great crowd. Expect to hear Jack Black pushing Burger King Kids Meals, video games, and Facebook applications for the next few months. Believe me, you haven’t experienced Kung-Fu Panda until you’ve experienced the massive multiplayer online game that you can find on their incredibly beautiful and content-rich site, http://www.kungfupanda.com/.

Oh yeah, and there’s a movie too! It’s the centerpiece of their Summertime Blockbuster push, and a zesty main course of family fun. The adult humor takes a mild backseat to some clever animated violence and the film avoids all of the egotistical pitfalls that the Shrek sequels fell victim to. Still, there isn’t anything of lasting value here (except the revenue, Cha-ching!). The computer animation is a little aged at this point and is about as effective here as cartoons were in the 90’s, and the story is the standard fish-out-of-water, chase-your-dreams-no-matter-what combo that children’s films have been hoisting since the time of Peter Rabbit. Only this time it’s with kung-fu and a panda! Fun, fun, fun, soft drink, fun!
