Prelude
There is a legend, that one of the olders gods, who remained to watch the Younger Gods take their place in the heaven.
The Younger Gods,in their vanity and self righteousness, allowed Stagnation and Debauchery to reign, while the last Lord Ancient slept. When he awoke, his Gaze fell upon the World and he grew displeased. The Younger Gods mocked him, defied him and spoke arrogantly against him.
His anger rose as The Younger Gods failed in the Council of Ancients decree, and with a raised fist, his power was unleashed. It was mighty and devastating indeed, for in the complacency of the Younger Gods, believing they were secured in their Might, were chased from the heavens. Those who thought they could withstand, were obliterated where they stood.
When it was it was, no Younger God stood in the heavens, those who were rumored to escaped became mortal, and whilst their power stripped, they retained great knowledge. In their petty vengeance, they turn towards the Empire, which wrought their shame and humiliation, plotted it downfall.
The Lord Ancient gazed down on the world, watching. The world started to change....<>

The Empire has collapsed, after centuries of tyrannical rule, a faction of freedom fighters, rebels whatever you wish to call them succeeded in their goal, the removal of the Emperor and his senate. Mighty powers of the Arcane, with the brawn's of a warrior arms and weapons achieved what no other could.

The capitol city lay in ruins, for miles around the earth so churned up that those who have escaped say the terrain is alien. Estates now lay in shambles or swallowed by the massive quakes that rocked the capitol, out laying cities, towns and villages gone. Even the coast line took a twisted shifting and is unknown. The waters raging like a spurned lover.
The lands around the Capitol is strange, those who ventured in, never were seen again. Many of the Empire generals tried to regain control. Some succeeded many failed. Others vied for their fate, long persecuted from their rightful destinies, others found a spot in supporting one person agenda or another.

Loyalty.
A precious commodity that was in short supply.

Many wondered where and what their fate were and others took it by the reins....

Where does your FATE lay at?
