Data stored on a blue-ray disc has a better image quality and other special features such s good quality, better than that which is in a DVD. Further this discs store larger capacity of information than the DVD such that as a DVD stores 8GB a blue ray disc can store up to over six times, that is, 50GB. Although the discs look the same and the players also look the same they have differences with the blue ray disc having better features, in terms of image quality, audio quality and the storage capacity. For instance, the maximum resolution for blue-ray is 1920x1080 and the DVD is 720x480. This special feature thus requires special blue ray player.

That Blue-ray technology is becoming widely accepted and used; there is need for compatibility with the other technology.  Out of this, it is possible to play Blu-Ray Movies/Videos on HDTV. These can be played using the Blu-Ray Player/Mobile Phone via DLNA/HDMI. When using the HDMI to play Blu-ray movies/Videos, the user would need to connect the player to the HDTV using two HMDI cables via a sound system (home theatre). One cable connects the player to the home theatre which is then connected to the HDTV via the other cable. After successful connections one can now insert the blue-ray disc into the blue-ray player and start enjoy the entertainment.

Another method is used when the Blu-Ray player is enabled to DLNA. This method provided more security and safety to the Blu-Ray because the movies/videos are first backup to the computer or removable. However, some movies/videos format are not supported by DLNA in which case, these files require a Blu-Ray Ripper to rip and convert such movies/videos to DLNA supported form.. a common software used is ripping is the Aimersoft Blu-Ray Ripper which is used to rip the movies/Videos to a personal Computer with DLNA support on both Windows and Mac. The user will only need to acquire the appropriate ripping software, install it, run it to rip and convert and start enjoy the movies/videos.

It is also possible to play Blu-Ray Movies/Videos on HDTV with Mobile Phone via DLNA/HDMI. When the user has a DLNA supported phone which can be used to store the videos/Movies, this method can be used bearing in mind that not all mobile phone DLAN formats. In this case, the owner can use Aimersoft blu ray converterto rip and convert the movies/videos to supported formats. The first step is to rip and convert the files on the computer using suitable software such as the ripper by Aimersoft. The converted movies/videos can then be transferred to the mobile phone. The phones can then be connected to the HDTV via DLNA using the WIFI connection where the user first enables the WIFI connection between the mobile phone and HDTV. Alternatively the owner can use the HDMI cables which are connected directly to the HDTV from the mobile phone. Once the connection is successful, then start enjoying your movies/videos.
