Tips on Reducing Wrinkles

Ever wonder why people assume you are older than you seem? Have people treated you as elderly or treat you like an old man? Well, this is most likely because of your wrinkles. With this showing through your body anybody could assume you’re an old man.

Currently there are various types of wrinkle treatment available to eliminate or reduce wrinkles. These are quite available in the whole world, of course, the exemption being those remote places that is far from civilization.

Drugs

When I say drugs I am not referring to those that are addictive in a way. These drugs that I am referring to are those which remove wrinkles.

Creams containing retinoid is a derivative of Vitamin A, which is used to reduce the appearance of fine lines in the skin. While effective, it is advisable to consult an expert before use, as such that it can cause side effects if used improperly.

Anti-wrinkle creams has different effectiveness levels depending on prescription as prescribed ones are likely to contain more active ingredients than those that are not prescribed. These drugs contain Retinol, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), kinetin, coenzyme Q10 & antioxidants which can provide improvements to the wrinkles, ranging from small to medium.

Technical & Surgical measures

While drugs are quite effective to get rid of wrinkles, various skin smoothing techniques, injections, fillers & surgery procedures can also be done to smooth out wrinkles. Each technique has a different way, as well as the results or side effects. Process time may range from minutes to days depending on the problem requiring fixing.

Dermabrasion is a surgical procedure that involves the controlled abrasion of the upper layers of the skin with sandpaper or other mechanical means. This technique is done by smoothing the outer layer of skin using a rotating brush. The goal is to remove the outer layer of skin, so the new layer of skin will appear. Redness and sores usually appears and would take up to several months for it to disappear.

Microdermabrasion is almost similar to dermabrasion, the difference is that this method usesmechanical medium for exfoliation to remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells from the epidermis. This method is performed using vacuum suction that contains aluminum oxide crystals, used to the entire face. Microdermabrasion is done repeatedly to obtain satisfactory results, because the results are temporary.

If all else fails there is always laser treatment. Laser therapy is the use of low-frequency radio beam. The laser will damage the top layer of the skin & generate heat in the layer below which stimulates collagen tissue growth. After the healing period, a layer of new skin would form which would be smoother & tighter. It would take 2 months for the healing period before the effects can be seen.
