Self study is always known a better option among the other options. Students require to believe in themselves first. To complete a home-work if a student stuck somewhere, it requires consulting the whole chapter of the book. When a student learn the whole chapter, student becomes self reliant and confident. The confidence gained from the self study makes them answer any question asked related to that chapter. Such students do not stick with the answers of the questions provided in the chapter exercises only. In absence of a whole chapter learning, students just memorizes answers of few questions provided in the chapter exercises or as guided by the class teachers. This not only makes a void in the knowledge but also prevents them to answer a question which is not provided in their note-book.
Usually students need study help to understand a topic or whole chapter. The class teacher may not provide adequate one to one attention to each student of the class. If the number of confusions is more, then some left un-answered in the classroom. Students look towards parents for a study help or homework help. Sometimes they manage through the peer group of colleagues. This may not be a case of solution each and every time. Here comes a feeling of requirement of a tutor of the subject.
For a private tuition, whether at student’s home or at tutor’s home, parents may not feel secured. The tutors are not well verified at the personal level. Also, it becomes next to impossible to verify the studies each and every time. Parents require relying on the choice and recommendation of their children. Parents are bound to judge tutors only on the basis of grades achieved in the examination. Even if the grades are good, a tutor may not be a true teacher. There can be many loop holes in the process of tutoring.
