Hi! My name is Gunnery Sgt. King Red Leo Givan Koontz USMC, Commanding, and here is some of the highlights of my life!

PEACE IN THE GARDEN
I was born in the outskirts of Yuma, Arizona-The hottest of America's cities-tying death valley. I am a Red Queensland Heeler born in March 12 , 1992. I LOOOOOOOVE to go for rides in my Father's Jeeper's Creepers(big Jeep truck) and love the water!!
I have eaten in fancy restaraunts where actors Kurt Russel, Sylvester Stallone, Paully Shore, Kim Bassinger, Alec Baldwin, and Arnold Schwartzenegger have eaten. I love to go through fast food drive thru's-they give me treats when I wear my cool shades!! I leave them on for hours-it helps my sight! I used to be a company mascot in my Daddy's Marine Corps Combat Engineer Company and even went on a few runs with the Marines in Yuma!

If I got too tired, they would pick me up and put me in a Hummvee-that was fun to have a ride and watch my Daddy run with the rest of the Marines, haha!! My Dad used to take me every weekend to Dog Beach in Ocean Beach-a cool city under San Diego!! If we were still there, I know my best friend and Dad Attila would be taking me there every weekend still! We moved to Indiana , where we still tried to have fun.

My Dad loves me!

My Dad took me to the river and lakes swimming and we had lots of fun! My Daddy also took took me for rides in the landfill's Gator at his work, riding around sitting on my bottom like any other person-I'm quite accustomed to riding in vehicles, its another favorite pastime of mine!

I had much fun riding around with him! Other than that, we didn't like it there-I even got shot at by a redneck with birdshot from a shotgun while my Dad was at work and I was being baby sat by a sitter. I lived in luxury and love to lounge around on the couch and bed with blankies and pillows!

We left Indiana for better lands-Ocean County New Jersey where My Dad Attila and Mom Jyade took me all the time to the beach!! Oh how I love going there! I learned how to boogie board on the ocean! I am now coast to coast Red Leo!! Been to and love both Atlantic and Pacific oceans and have swam in both repeatedly-thank you Mom and Dad!! I recently had the best birthday party ever!

It was my 15th birthday-what a glorious Day for me-thank you Mommy and Daddy!!! It was a special Day in my life marking a long and splendid life with my best friend, Dad! My mommy spoiled me all the time, she also kept me company and gave me treats when Daddy was at work so I wouldn't get deppressed-thank you Mommy for being there for me!!

Hi folks-I am Attila Kane, Red Leo's Dad and best friend. Unfortunately on the 9th of June 2007 at 9:00 am Monday morning in Tinton Falls Veterinarian's Ocean County New Jersey-my best friend of 15 1/2 years and my little boy King Red Leo passed away not alone, but with me holding him in my arms-I was there for my best little friend in his hour of need to comfort my little boy and companion. We grew old together as I got him when I was only 21 years old and am now 36. This is what I have to say about King Red Leo, my best friend:
I would like to share wth you the memory of the best friend I had-he started out as a pet when he was a pup, but he was always a family member and stayed inside the houses we've lived in his whole life. His name is King Red Leo, and this is some of his life.
King Red Leo began his beautiful life in Yuma, AZ on 12 March 1992. He was the runt of the litter, and deemed not show-worthy quality of the breed because of coat coloring and ears not being fully pricked. This in no way bothered me and wasn't even considered when I got him-he was so very mellow, loving and gentle!
I always was fortunate enough to find places to live that wuold allow pets, and the one time I didn't, instead of getting rid of my companion like people often do, I found a place-I would never abandon my beloved friend! I never considered living in any place that wouldn't allow pets..
I was in the Marines for 6 years and King Red Leo participated in the Corps with me as my Company's Mascot and as such, he was included in runs with us for Friday PT-if he got tired, we put him in a Hummvv. He got to ride in them occasionally during military exercises out in the desert. He was given the rank of Gunnery Seargent, USMC.
While living in Yuma, I took him with me to an upscale Inn to dine. Dined where Hollywood stars like Kurt Russell, Arnold S. , Kim Bassinger, Alec Baldwin, Paully Shore and Sylvester Stallone have-thanks to a very cool waiter who served us in the balcony. He sat on the chair like a person, had his cloth napkin tucked in his collar, drank out of a crystal bowl, ate chicken caesar salad, and Fillet Mignon. Naturally, being an upscale kinda guy himself, he didn't eat all of his dinner and had to take a doggie bag home,haha!
I took him to Dog Beach in a place called Ocean Beach, California almost every weekend-and he loved it!! He absolutely LOVES the ocean! He swam in the Colorado and Salt rivers in AZ, would always ride around with shades on and get treats in drive-up windows! HE always made people laugh! He was so calm and placid. He was the proud father of 3 litters from his wife Gina, a very Dominant Bue Heeler-she ruled the roost,hahaha! They loved each other immensely, but after we moved to Indiana, and living there for a few years, she passed away-painlessly.
He loved to lounge around on the couch and HAD to have his spot on the couch! Him and his mommy Jyade would fight over it sometimes-if she was sitting there and would leave for a second, he would rush over there to claim it! He also loved riding around in the jeep or car-he LOVED rides! He also swam in the lakes and rivers in Indiana. This year we moved to New Jersey where his life was filled with alot of excitement-we took him to the beach so many times, and he loved it! He couldn't get enough! I always gave him ice cubes in his water. He even learned to ride the boogie board in the ocean decently enough-he did everything with us as we always included him in everything we did! Everywhere I 've worked, my bosses and co-workers all knew King Red Leo! I took him on some jobs and he would ride the gator around with me at a landfill I worked at-with his shades and hard hat and safety vest!
Unfortunately, his beautiful life came to an end on the 9th day of July 2007 at 9:00 am in Ocean County NJ. He died due to an incurable disease and because of his age, he wouldn't have lived during surgery , so I painfully opted for the painless way for him. He slipped away in my arms, with me telling him how much I've always loved him and we're best friends to the end. He didn't pass away while I was at work or alone as I 've always feared. I'm glad His Mommy Jyade and I were there with him in his hour of need-what a loyal companion and best friend! People would always call him"my shadow" and say" he doesn't go anywhere without Red Leo", but thats how we lived our lives. He was 15 1/2 years old and a beautiful little person who gave all he had, We will never forget him! We buried him like the King he is! We wrapped him in his favorite blanket and royal pillow,put his armor on and shield, his dog bowl, toys and flowers. We anointed him with Frankincense, myhrr, jasmine, rose petals and sea salt. I will always remember him-He remains with us eternally-I Love You King Red Leo!!!!!!!
