Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad, (Arabic: الطائر ابن لا أحد (aṭ-ṭāʾir ibn lā ʾaḥad) "The Bird, Son of No One") (Voiced by Philip Shahbaz in Assassin's Creed and by Cas Anvar in Assassin's Creed: Revelations) (Modeled on Francisco Randez) (1165–1257) usually known by the mononym Altaïr, is the main protagonist of Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed: Altaïr's Chronicles, Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines, Assassin's Creed: The Secret Crusade and the primary supplemental character in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. He is a Syrian Assassin, whose birthday is January 11, 1165 and who lived during the third Crusade. The name Altaïr (الطائر) means "The Bird" in Arabic and is subject to a huge misunderstanding by people who want to believe it means "The Eagle". However, in Arabic, al-Nisr (النسر) is the correct translation of the eagle. The name ibn La-Ahad means "Son of no one" in Arabic, although the accuracy of the translation is heavily questioned. Additionally, Ben Reeves of Game Informer adds that the "name of the top assassin [...] is also the name of a star in the constellation Aquila – Aquila being another name meaning eagle.
Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Born June 24, 1459, Ezio was also an ancestor to both Desmond Miles and Subject 16 (aka Clay Kaczmarek). Ezio was unaware of his Assassin heritage until the age of 17, when his father Giovanni, a banker from high society, and two siblings: Federico, his older brother, and Petruccio,the youngest and a fan of feathers, were falsely accused of treason and hanged. Directly before that event, Ezio arrived at his house and, following his father's instructions, found a hidden room with a chest filled with assassin robes (including a sword and a broken hidden blade). Ezio, because of his adventurous lifestyle, was already extremely agile and was taught how to fight, unlike Altaïr. Seeking revenge, he escapes with his mother and sister to the Tuscan town of Monteriggioni held by his uncle, assassinating Uberto Alberti (who had betrayed his family) in the process.
Connor Kenway (born Ratohnhaké:ton) (voiced by Noah Watts), is the protagonist of the 5th installment of the Assassin's Creed Series, Assassin's Creed III, which will be set between the years 1753 and 1783. Born to an English father and Native American mother, Connor was raised by the Mohawk people during the American Revolution. He is Desmond's next key ancestor after Ezio Auditore da Firenze.
When he was young, British colonists burnt down his village, which in turn is how he came to the conclusion to seek justice and fight tyranny, coming across the Assassin's Order. Connor was skilled at climbing and maneuvering from trees and mountain cliffs and was also skilled at hunting animals, skinning then selling their pelts. In combat, Connor was capable of wielding many weapons, including a hidden blade; flintlock pistols and rifle; knives, a bow and arrows; and, most noticeably, a unique tomahawk with its blade shaped as the Assassin insignia. During the American Revolution, Connor found himself allying with important key figures such as George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Charles Lee, Israel Putnam, General Lafayette, and many more.
