First off what is BT or BitTorrent?

BitTorrent also known as BT is a protocol that allows you to download files. It is P2P or peer to peer protocol, that means that you can download and upload the same file as someone else. BitTorrent is often used for the distribution of very large, popular, and FREE files. That's right FREE! BitTorrent is a easy way for you and your friends to share things (but not limited to) Pictures and Homemade Movies.

What is µTorrent?

µTorrent is a program that lets you share your files! You can get µTorrent by going to http://utorrent.com/

How do I download files using µTorrent?

All you need to do is get a .torrent file! A .torrent file is a small file that tells the BitTorrent client the necessary info to download the content you want. This is often obtained from a Torrent website. Many of the avaliable websites are Legaltorrents.com, Vuze.com, these are just a few of them there are tons of them! Just google it! Once you've obtained a torrent file, you simply need to import it into µTorrent. There are several ways of doing this.

1. Drag and drop the torrent file you downloaded onto µTorrent's window.

2. Choose to open the torrent file instead of saving it to your computer. If you have associated µTorrent with .torrent files, this will work. µTorrent asks on first run if you want to do this, but if you said no, you can go to Options, Preferences and click button labeled Associate with .torrent files to reassociate it.

Where do I find files to download?

Most people like me use search engines, such as Google, and add the term "torrent" to my search! BitTorrent is purely a content distribution method and (just like a web browser) does not incorporate any technology to differentiate between content that is legitimately shared and content that is pirated. Remember, anybody can see your IP address when using peer to peer clients (like µTorrent), which identifies your computer on the internet. Remember to follow your country's laws concerning copyrighted content.
