Group Communication Through Animal Angels
Topic: Group Communication

This blog will help our group post ideas for our Final Presentation and  for working on the script that is due on Aug. 17 by 9 pm. Although our group does communicate through e-mail  and phone/text messages every couple of days, this blog will be a great way for someone to post an idea and then group members can leave a comment thread on the idea; sort of like Blackboard and better than e-mail. Also, we would put forth the week's agenda on this blog as well as what is due in a posting that will be available along with the e-mail version.

Another great idea would be that if Animal Angels ever came into fruition, community members, dog shelters and humane societies could utilize this blog for posting different fundraising events, medical-treatment locations and other important information.

Who we are
Topic: What we do
We are Animal Angels, a nonprofit organization with a goal of helping pet owners in need of financial assistance.  With the hard times we face these days it’s a shame that with the cut backs our families are being forced to make eventually lead to providing care for our pets. We are directly involved with humane societies and local animal shelters to assure that our services are allocated to those who truly are in need of it. We rely on our fellow animal lovers to fund this organization.

History and our mission
Topic: Mission Statement
Animal Shelters were developed to provide a home to dogs and cats on the streets and slowly expanded to even more useful duties. Today, animal shelters provide, homes, food, human contact, medical help, and perform procedures for the well- being of animals.

The first animal shelter started in the 1800s in Britain as a way to fight against animal cruelty. Americans adopted the same idea short afterwards and expanded into humane societies and pet rescue.

Today, veterinarians are performing surgeries on small animals ranging from a broken leg to removing malignant tumors to correcting arterial damage. The survival rate is increasing and pets are able to live a longer and happier life with their owners.

Our goal is to expand the efforts of animal shelters even more. We want to provide medical assistance for pets and families who cannot afford to keep their pet in their best health. This assistance will come from you, the people of the community, and large businesses.
