The freedom and control that you get when you are self-employed is appealing. It’s no surprise that most people I have met say they would like to start their own businesses. Unfortunately, for most of them, it is a distant dream that never manifests.
This bums me out, because there are sooooo many people out there who SHOULD be working for themselves. In fact, they SHOULD be doing so right now. There is no need to wait.

Others don’t have “book smarts” but can talk people into buying ANYTHING. Still others are Average Joes who had the sense to find a proven business plan and just follow the damn script.
Believe me, if you had met some of the entrepreneurs I’ve met, you’d believe that anyone can become a successful entrepreneur too!
I hear what you’re saying now: “Alright Anik Singal, I can become an entrepreneur, but I don’t have a brilliant idea!”
The greatest myth about becoming an entrepreneur is that you need a revolutionary new product idea to get off the ground. After all, this is how many of the entrepreneurs we idolize – Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, Mark Zuckerburg, etc – got started.
In reality, you don’t need to come up with the next Google to become an entrepreneur. Most successful entrepreneurs are not revolutionaries. Do you think your average roofer or carpet cleaner is shaking up their fields?
If you have a great idea for a new product or service, great, run with that. If you don’t, just identify a product or service you would enjoy providing to customers, figure out what the hundreds of successful businesses in that field did to provide that product/service, and follow the script.
Once you get going, then you will start finding ways to innovate. That’s the way it works for every other skill. Entrepreneurship is no different.
The best part is that this is the GOLDEN AGE of entrepreneurship. With the internet, there are more pathways than ever to become self-employed. You don’t even need to get an office!
Are you a nerdy web designer? Awesome, go on one of the multitude of freelance sites out there and get some web design clients.
Are you an expert on nutrition? Sweet, use social media platforms to find clients to coach.
Do you love sales? Go onto Clickbank, find a few products you are passionate about, then go out and sell them and earn some commissions.
