Band festivals

I can't even explain how happy I am right now!

So, today starting at 4:30 was the michigan band state festivals. Yeah, both our bands made it to state. [ Cadet and Concert,  oh this is middle school btw.] We were of course pretty nervous, we wanted to get a one and get some donuts! HAHA, So at 4:30 we play our three tunes, okay that goes well. [ except my oboe played a natural instead of flat. :O yikes, luckily it wasn't noticeable.]
    I'd like to say we rocked. And I will say it, we rocked.

Now we are in sight reading. Easy march, we played it almost perfectly so we all thought we were going to get a one, why wouldn't we? Ohhhhh that changed once our basoon player but a stinger on when there was clearly no stinger. We all cringed as we heard the fatal basoon,  and boy did we all want to kill him then and there![ I knew we would get a two over that] t he ovature was a little tricky, I believe I had all total about 30-40 measures of rest. x( too many for my taste.
   :3  After we played the teacher/judge gave us some tips, including not to tap our toes. -.- okay, we knew that was coming. Our band director warned us to Anti-tap man didn't like that.
   Blah blah blah. Brings us to later on. I had to leave early since my mother had to go back to work to shut the place up. [ And boy was I mad about that, I wanted to be with my band family to see the scores.] As soon as I got there I called one of my best friends and awesome bell player.
    We got straight ones!

aMAZING RIGHT. I,I,I, AND I,that means donuts and an A for the quarter. Oh and not to mention a blue medal. I was so happy, a little bit shocked because of what happened in sight reading. But I wasn't going to question it. We got straight ones! I still gotta find out what the other band got. Hmmm....that'll be interesting.
