Hello, I'm Moritz from Germany and want to tell something about my life. My very special life, because I am a heavy allergic. Most of the people think: "Ok, he's allergic, so what!" but no one without an allergy understands what this means for the daily routine. That's why I want to tell you.

Many people don't see an allergy as an disease, but believe me, it is, an a very straining. I am allergic since my childhood and I had to follow some strong restriction for nearly all of my life. I cannot go camping or just for a walk in spring and summer, because I get so heavy allergic attacks from that, that I even can get fever and typical flu symptoms. Once I went out in the fields, because it was very good weather and I was young. That set me back two weeks in bed, because of inflammations in my nose and my bronchia. You see, allergy is not about this stereotype of a mollycoddle, it's a real problem for the person concerned.

So I have to follow some protective measures and this really helps. I have to eat very careful, a hypoallergenic diet, have to take my pills almost every day (also nasal spray and eye drops), have to sleep in anti allergy bedding to sleep (because allergies can cause some very hard nights, because of insomnia). I can't get out spontaneous, cause I have to watch the weather). In spring and summer, I mostly have to stay home. When I go out, I have to wash my hear every time before I go to sleep (this is a little bit annoying ;) ).

So you see, allergics are no wimps (I think about this little boy in a TV series, blond, with glasses and very thin, and: allergic), but we have an affliction that constricts our life very much, so we have to come to an arrangement with this. This sometimes appears as we were a milksop, but it's only necessary. Cause if you don't care of your allergy, it will shift from the upper to the lower airways and than you have a real problem: asthma.
