Welcome to all about
dingoes, a website devoted to the ginger coated wild dog of South
Eastern Asia and Australia. You will find they are quite fascinating
animals. I have always fancied them and would like to share information
with you.
Did you know?
The longest lived dog in the world was an Australian Cattle Dog named Bluey who died in 1939 at the age of 29 years. The Australian Cattle dog is a breed descended from the dingo.
In recent times, there have been two fatal dingo attacks in Australia. The first happened in 1980 when a baby stole a killed Azaria Chamberlain - a nine week old baby. The second attack happened in 2001 to a boy
on Fraiser Island.
When kept as a pet, dingoes are very likely to run away.
Dingoes are regularly eaten in some South Eastern Asian countries.
In dingo packs the alpha-female will eat the puppies of any other female that breeds.
Dingoes are present in all of Australia except for Tasmania and the eastern half of New South Wales and Victoria.
