Safaris At The Kruger National Park

The Kruger national park is the most celebrated animal reserve in the whole region of South Africa. The national park is enormous owing to the fact that it is actually made up of several other private game reserves. These reserves are located in the border to the west of the national park. The reserves have no fences allowing the game to freely roam the expansive land. This makes Kruger one of the largest game parks in the whole of Africa hosting numerous animal species in the largest area available.

Kruger Park actually touches a number of provinces including Limpopo and Mpumalanga. It is a very vast chunk of land that hosts tourists in their hundreds every year.

Kruger park is home to an array of animals that include the big five (buffalo, rhino, elephant, leopard and lion). There are a lot of other animal species in the land making Kruger look like a big animal village. Other animals include rhino beetle, ant lion, and elephant shrew as well as buffalo weaver. Bird species such as saddle bill stock, fishing owl, martial eagle, vultures, kori bastard as well as the ground hornbill are also found in this area. It is a perfect place for bird lovers who will find it most fascinating.

Kruger Park is one of South Africa’s hot spots and actually encourages both local and international tourism. The trees within the park include mopane, marula, Knob thorns, fever trees as well as baobabs. Talk of diversity, it is all found at Kruger park.

Kruger Park arranges for game drives for the visitors who would love to explore the land. Early morning drives are very common here. The best thing about the early morning drives is actually the ability to see the African bush wake up. The African sunrise is always a sight to behold. The morning hours just before the sun gets perfect to see a lot of animal activities. This makes the time perfect for game viewing.

The evening drives can also be arranged. There are nocturnal animals that can only be viewed at night and if this is what interests you, you will be able to see them after dark. This makes night drives most necessary.

You may also choose to take a flying safari over Kruger Park. Being an expansive reserve, you will be able to cover more ground this way. You will also get to see the area from an aerial point and it will be a wonderful experience if you are fascinated by heights.

Game walks are also a great idea if you want a more intimate experience in the African bush. You’ll be able to put all your senses to work.
