Winter Car Care Tips
Here is a checklist from CHECKER AUTO PARTS:
- Check belts and hoses for cracks
- Check antifreeze
- Test battery & Alternator (Checker will test at no charge to you)
- Check battery terminals for corrosion
- Stock up on window washer de-icer
- Don't forget a snowbrush & scraper
- Change your oil to the manufacturer's recommended cold weather specifications.
Don't forget a new filter.
- Check fuel filter
If you park outside you, you might want to consider an engine heater.
There are many choices and most are easy to install. Some universal applications are simply magnetic.
You may also want to consider the following:
Traction Sand
Emergency Kit
Fix-a-Flat
Lock De-Icer
Gas Line Antifreeze
Jumper Cables
Road Flares
Tire Pressure Gauge
Window Spray De-Icer
Remote starters are also available for those of us who would like to start their vehicle without having to go outside to do it.
