  Cockpits

Being an Instrumentation and Electrical Mechanic for 32 years, I have a hatred for  broken instruments.  Couple this with a love of art, and when I see a broken gauge , I feel a need to fix it. In the old days we could not toss away parts. Repair it!

All files are assembled with the  JSGME file switching utility.

You can manually install them, also. If installing manually, open the readme file and follow the instructions therein.

If you find manual install confusing, I suggest you use JSGME. All future mods will use this utility.

Emil_Panel_v1.zip       This very large file will make the Flaps information panel readable, auf Deutsch. The Compass deviation plate I guessed at.

It also puts in my old lower panel instruments (not any gauges with pointers) that I made before with BoB I.  Removed the panel  letters and #s.

High resolution, 4x as big as original. I see no FPS hit using it. It is the base for my Pinups. If a lady does not look good, then she shall be ignored. !

Emil_Cleaner_Gauge_Faces.zip   This  removes all the blues and purples from the Bf109 gauge faces. Cleans them all up with a uniform color.

EmilCleaner.jpg (126191 bytes)                            This also provides cleaner pointers. All files are PCX format except CPT2D28, to stop shimmering. So you must manually

remove all DDS formatted version of these  files  from the COCKPITS folder to make this work. :( Sorry for this, I am.

Smokin256_modded_canopies.zip    This is a set of slightly more subtle canopy reflections based on Bader's originals
                                                                                           The Spitfire uses
Martin "ICDP" Catney's knock-out panel. Thank's Martin!

Muzak_Revi_&_Leather.zip       This replaces the stock Luftwaffe sight reticle with the one used in 1940.  I lowered the reticle. :)

His darker Revi sight leather pad is included also.

Revi.jpg (117524 bytes)                              Modified by Muzak.

Engine_Control_Keys.zip    This enables you to use key presses to start and shut down your engines.

Engine_Start_Keys_2.jpg (137280 bytes)                  The mouse interactive controls in cockpit still work, but some folks like something a bit easier and faster.

The Me110 and Me109 magnetos do not work with key presses for me. :(  So I have to mouse move them.

You can get the Me109 magnetos and the left Me110 magnetos to work with keys, but you must manually

edit the models\Bf109E.acm and the Bf110C.acm files. Below are the texts by DickDastardly describing

his findings using engine control keys, and CPSBombers findings concerning LW magnetos.

                                                                     Engine_Control_Keys_Texts.zip
