THE CAR
It was during the year 1995, where it has been two
years since Proton launched and started their production
of new generation sedan named the Proton Wira which
is a rebadged production of Japanese Auto-Maker Mitsubishi's
Lancer. The Wira, being one of the best production
cars produce by the Proton's tech-transfer productions
with Mitsubishi, was quite a success as the sales
growth with the well acceptance by the local and also
foreign market.
Following the success of the Proton Wira, Proton finally
decided to launch a similar design model to the Wira
models. Being 3 doors, shorter wheel base, nippy engine
response, and more sportier image, it was named the
Proton Satria.
The name Satria
derived from the Malay word of the same spelling which
means Warrior. Why Warrior? As some might wonder
but at SPOC, we will only be wondering Why Not?
