M1 car on display in Philly.  The graffiti was hand drawn, and some test third rail is also visible. NJT Comet cab cars hold the mainline at the Junction A  Bachmann F-40 enters the junction from other side. These buildings are all easily available, but look amazing with the proper paint and signs.

A scene reminiscent of the Bronx.  Note the  tenements in the background. These were scanned from a real photo.  Buildings like these are common in NYC. A train of M1's negotiates through a cut.  These IHP shells sit on Walthers Amfleet II underbodies.  The pilots are scratch built.  Note the third rail. A 4-car set rounds the curve, as seen from the adjacent platform.  My custom made decals are visible above the windows on the background car. A better view of my M1's.  Each married pair is connected with drawbars.  Walthers Subway cars are connected in the same manner.

NEW: The new Plastruct El is seen on display.  The brown building is new as well.  It is a plaster casting. A shot from a second story window with a BART car. The foreground building is based on a Mott Haven, NY prototype. (due east of the MNCR mainline when it emerges from a cut to cross the Harlem River) NEW: Life-Like R-17s run over the plastruct el.  A wide assortment of buildings are visible, including a Bachman skyscraper in the corner.  This scene looks like Long Island City on the Flushing Line near Queensboro Plaza. Here we find an M1 rumbling over the el.  This could be a scene on the Long Island Railroad.  The Flatbush Av. Branch climbs onto a 2- track el as it passes thru Bedford-Stuyvesant in Brooklyn.  My el is not built nearly as heavily as the LIRR's.

NEW: My new R17s roll over the Plastruct el in a scene reminiscent of the Bronx IRT.  I didn't have the heart to graffiti on the cars, though. The new el is constructed of ABS structural forms.  The bottoms of the legs have been painted black to match the prototype. NEW: R17s again. The foreground building here is a DIY plaster casting.  The street which the el traverses is a bit too narrow for NYC, though not for Chicago. The el has been moved for this photo op.  Low-rise industries and high-rise apartments are reminiscent of the Bronx.

Good view of station support columns and platforms at Philly. M1 on a branch line.  Not too prototypical. General Overview of M1s Looking up from under the el.

A double track el viewed from a trackside window. An M1 pulls around a scenic urban vista, showing off its custom decals. The warehouse in the background is from  Downtown Deco, the "Arrow" sign is scratch built. From far away, its hard to tell that there are no tracks below this switcher.  We are above the tunnel in Philly.

Looking down on the el.  This shot was staged over near the Philly end of the layout. A good side view showing just how long these M1s are.  This area could represent East NY, Brooklyn. An aerial shot of the newly-finished area above the tunnel, where many of the surrounding shots were taken. Looking down at the street and sidewalks from the end of the Nostrand Ave platforms.

The back of the buildings in Philly with two new buildings in back. A close-up of a burned-out commercial zone, inspired by the South Bronx. This building was cast from parts from an IHC mansion.  The awning was scratchbuilt to resemble those on every NYC corner. NEW: This is an SS limited Resin casting of an old Msgnuson Models Building.  There used to be a grocery store on this site, but I upgraded!

NEW: This row house block was built with DPM modular walls.  It inspired by the row houses of East Harlem. NEW: A view of the classic New York City stoop.  They were cobbled together from the ends of an atlas plate girder. NEW: The back of the row houses, complete with weeds and junk. NEW: The building has been rotated on the site for a different view.
