Aim: How do we draw oblique object surfaces and
irregular curves in paraline views?
To make an angle- make a line and rotate or u can make a line starting at an end point and then put in “@” then give in the distance then “<” and then the angle.

Aim: how can we plot curves in oblique planes?

A) Lay out “ortho” views
1) check overall dimensions
2) mark center of work area
3) half the dimension in the wrong direction
4) use redefined start point to construct isometric

B) lay out grid, plot points, make curve
1) establish benchmarks (reference line)
2) Measure off set and transpose

C) Plot curve using irregular curve
1) Line up multiple plot points
2) Mark “interior” segments

 To go to osnap settings press shift right click.
 “Alt D G” makes a rectangle
 “Alt D L” makes a line
 The divide command is “div”. When it asks you how many segments to divide into put in the number you want to divide the line into.
 To make it so that you can see the whole drawing go to the zoom all icon and highlight the drawing
 If you make a box going from left to right it will highlight everything in the box.

Ways to draw a line:
1) name the two end points-absolute
2) relative distances (use the “@” symbol.) For< example if you wanted to make a 2 inch line you would put in “@ 2<30(degrees)”.

Aim: How do we use the ACAD help menu?

“Draw” Commands
Line-(icon is a line segment) you can use “Alt D L” and connect point to point; you can designate a point and then put in the length of the line then “@<” and the angle;
Rectangle-(icon is a rectangle) short cut is “alt D G”
Circle-(icon is a circle)
Divide-press “div” or you can go to the draw menu then go to point. Places nodes in a line which divide it into a certain amount of equal lines (the lines are not actually divided)

Modify-
Move-(icon looks like a coordinate plane)Moves an item or items to a different place.
Copy-Copies and item
Rotate-turns an object on a specified angle.( icon looks like an arrow turning)
Trim-makes a something shorter
Extend-Makes a something longer. Need a boundary edge.
Stretch-can select a group of objects. Don’t need a boundary edge. If you select something you don’t want to stretch you can put in “R” and then click on the item.
Offset- copies or another linear element at a specific distance parallel to the original object. (short cut-“o enter” or “alt m s”)
Other Important Commands or Functions
“Ortho” Mode-things are in 90 degrees to each other. “Snap Mode”- makes it so that the mouse only moves up or down at certain increments set by right clicking on the snap icon at the bottom of the screen.
“LWT”-(line weight)- changes the thickness of a line.

Object Snaps(O snap)- Shift right click. Used to show different parts of line. For ex. Intersection, endpoint, center.

Grip Editing- when you select a line without selecting a command you get this little blue squares (grips). You can use these to change the object. If you click on a box and then right click you get a list of commands to do.
