DAY ONE

THE PART YOU'RE LOOKING FOR

Here's a temporary link to the ad that started the whole mess.
I mean, after all Bayonne, NJ can't be that far from Lexington, KY right. No, it's not that far, only about a 750 mile trip. One way.
EBAY

The trip up was I64E to I79N to I68E to I70E to I695 into I95N which turns into the New Jersey Turn Pike. We followed that on in. To save toll money on the way home, we came back I78W to I81S to I68S to I79S then followed I64W on into Lexington. Here's a MAP of the area.

The fearless crew heads out the next day, Tuesday May 13, 2003. That's Brett (thrix) on the left, Andy (Mark or Andrew or gipper) in front, and Ryan (lawdog) on the trailer. Of course none of the trailer lights worked, so we spent the monring fixing that (you'll see the wonderful tail lights later) and installing a brake controller in Brett's ZJ.

This is the first gas stop in Big Otter, WV. Brett's putting the tow rig back together with fishing line, but no worries.

Hmmmm. Maybe we should upgrade?

Just out of Big Otter, we came upon a little guy humor.

This is the first little roadside joint we found to eat at. Sorry the picture isn't too good. I don't really know what happened. The name of the joint is Penny's Diner and it's at exit 40 of I68E. The food was terrific, and it was a really unique place.

Here's a picture from inside Penny's Diner. Chillin' with Marilyn and the Wurlitzer. Notice James Dean just hanging out in the background.

Ahhh, yes. Here we are in Mt Airy, MD. You know, it's really better for everyone if you just go ahead and make your restrooms open to the public. We know you have them, and hadn't you rather it be in your toilet than wondering where the business in hand got taken care of? :D
