Overview
Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to find out about my Eagle Scout Service Project.
It was quite an experience for me. In completing my project I was required to do
all my own planning and scheduling (I did get some help because this was a learning
experience and I did not know everything I needed to). This project taught me
things about myself as well. One of which, I will confess, is how much of a
procrastinator I can be.
The project itself was to develop a picnic grove in the wooded area behind the
Newmarket Community Outreach. There would be a footpath from the proposed bridge
location to the grove, and from the grove to the bank of the Lamprey River. All
the footpaths would be covered with crushed stone. And what picnic grove would
be complete without tables? This is why the project also would consist of four
standard picnic tables.
This project would benefit the Newmarket Community Church (the owners of the
property) because it would provide a place for the church to host picnics as
well as their annual Christian Education "Rally Day". The path from the grove
to the bridge would provide a link to the field where various types of
recreational activities could be held.
As you continue through this portion of the website, you will find pictures of
work done on the project, information on donations and other things.
Before I set you loose, let me close with this one final thought: The most
important thing that this project has given me is a sense of accomplishment; to
know that this grove is my creation.
