My Senator
John Warner, a Republican from Virginia,
began his twenty-fifth year of service in the United States Senate on January
7, 2003 after having been elected to his fifth term on November 5, 2002.
He is currently the third longest serving U.S. Senator in the history of
the Commonwealth after Harry F. Byrd and Carter Glass. He was born
on February 18, 1927. He was in the NAVY and went over and faught
in the Korean War. He then Finished his law degree at UVA.
He has been the secretary of the NAVY for 5 years. In 1978 he was
elected into the Senate and is still representing us.
My other Senator
As a member of the influential Commerce, Science
and Transportation Committee, as well as the Small Business and Entrepreneurship
Committee, Senator Allen has made the creation of quality, good paying
jobs in the Commonwealth his focus. Because of the tremendous high-tech
presence in Northern Virginia, Senator Allen was appointed in the last
Congress to serve as the Chairman of the High Tech Task Force where he
looked for ways to address the downturn in the tech economy through sound
public policy. Prior to his election to the Senate, Senator Allen
served as the 67th Governor of Virginia from 1994-1998. As Governor, he
won wide recognition for educational improvements. Senator Allen
holds a B.A. in History as well as a law degree from the University of
Virginia. He and his wife, Susan, reside in Fairfax County with their three
children: Tyler, Forrest, and Brooke.

JOESEPH
R. BIDEN, JR.
For most of 2002, former
US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Joe Biden -- currently the
committee's top Democrat -- was seriously looking at making a second run
for President in 2004. The September 2001 terrorist attack on America helped
quickly raise his national profile -- as Biden now regularly appears on
the TV news shows as a leading voice on foreign policy matters. His first
bid -- a disasterous run in 1988 -- ended before the first primary under
the weight of allegations that he plagiarized some material in his campaign
speeches (including biographical segments) from other politicians. First
elected to the Senate in 1972 as a challenger at the age of 29, Biden matured
and became a respected Senate leader.

WESLEY
K. CLARK (My Choice)
Starting in late 2002, retired
4-star Army General Wesley Clark began flirting with a possible run for
President in 2004 (or, maybe, in 2008). He made visits to New Hampshire,
North Carolina and other key states in 2002 to endorse local Democratic
candidates. He followed that up with meetings with top national and Iowa
party leaders. During his NH visit, Clark sharply criticized the Bush Administration
and laid out a clear vision of where he thinks American foreign policy
should be headed. Clark also has been meeting with groups of top Democratic
donors and insiders starting in Fall 2002. I chose him because he
has the largest support base and an ideal backround to be a good president.

Comparative
Government
The British Parlimentary System
From the 14th
Century, parliamentary government in
the United
Kingdom has been based on a two-chamber
system. The
House of Lords (the upper house) and the House
of Commons
(the lower house) sit separately and are
constituted
on entirely different principles. The relationship
between the
two Houses is governed largely by convention
but is in part
defined by the Parliament Acts. The legislative
process involves
both Houses of Parliament and the Monarch.

Political Cartoon
sThis
cartoon has to do with former Iraqi defense Minister Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf
and all of his lying on T.V. about winning the war and claiming a lot of
U.S. loses that never happened and were absolutely false. There is
a U.S. soldier in the backround of al-Sahaf and he is reporting that the
Iraqis are winning.
