MIKHAIL's
TOP 10 MOVIES
10. Matrix Trilogy
(Keannu
Reeves, Laurence Fishburne) - a philosophical movie about us being in a
matrix under the machines. This movie's an eyecandy, with stunning effects,
it surely wants you to ask for more.
9. Pirates of
the Carribean (Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush)
- a movie about a pirate who seeked out his mutinneers-come-doomed crew
to regain his ship and the hidden treasures. A disney theme park turned
into a movie...what a concept. This movie shows the versatility of the
thespian named Johnny Depp.
8. The Exorcist
(Linda
Blair) - about a girl possesed by a malevolent spirit. This movie slowly
creeps into your head making want to look under your bed if there's something
but you can't...in short, makes you freakin' scared.
7. Tinimbang
Ka Ngunit Kulang (Christopher de Leon, Eddie
Garcia) - this is about a young man seeking his place under the sun. A
Lino Brocka masterpiece, what it lacks technically, it greatly makes up
in performance and content. Too greatly you'll forget about the technical
aspects.
6. Lord of the
Rings Trilogy (Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood)
- the story revolves around a ring and the creatures who want to get hold
or get rid of it. One of the best film adaptation I've seen. Every detail
was captured and the performance was not outdone by the effects, given
the superb special effects.
5. Enemy at the
Gates (Jude Law, Joseph Fiennes) - a war movie
about a Russian soldier-turned-sniper. This movie may not be as gory as
Saving Private Ryan or as big as Pearl Harbor but the story qill surely
inspire you.
4. Space Jam
(Michael
Jordan, Looney Toons Gang) - about Jordan going to Toonland to play B-ball
against the Moonstars. What can I say...? I love Looney Toons and Jordan.
3. Willy Wonka
and the Chocolate Factory (i don't know the
cast, they're probably dead by now) - the story is about a contest on who
should inherit Mr. Wonka's chocolate factory. This is a heart-warming story...and
i love the oompa-wompas.
2. Tuesdays with
Morrie (Hank Azaria, Jack Lemmon) - about
a man learning life's presious lessons from his dying college professor.
Another heart-warming movie. Based on a book, this movie can really make
you want to listen to an old geezer...
1. Ed Wood (Johnny
Depp) - about the man dubbed as the Worst Director in Hollywood. The movie
is in black and white and what makes this special is that you will be into
the story more because the visual seems a little bit interesting. A great
movie nonetheless...the greatest for me.
