Lucky Day

There once was a guy named Tom. Tom was an ordinary man
who did ordinary things. He woke up every
morning at 7:15. He took a shower at 7:20. He ate
breakfast at 7:45. Then he went to work at 8:00. He did
this every day. No one loved Tom—not even
himself. But what was there to love?

Tom got home every night from work at precisely 5:30.
He read the paper until 6:00. Then he ate dinner
alone. At 8:30 he went to sleep. Tom cried himself
to sleep every night. This is the ordinary
life of an ordinary guy.

One day Tom got up at 7:20 instead of 7:15. He took a
shower at 7:25. He ate breakfast at 7:50. Then he
went to work at 8:05. He was late for work so
his boss fired him. Tom came home from work early.
He read the paper until 4:30. Then he ate dinner alone. At 6:00 he went to sleep. Tomorrow would
be better he said.
Tom found a new job the next morning. It paid better. A
girl named Cindy winked at him. Tom got home
from work at precisely 5:30. He took a shower at
5:45. Then he went out on a date with Cindy.
Tom came home at 10:30. At 11:00 he went to sleep. Tom smiled.
Tom woke up at 7:15. He took a shower at 7:20. He ate
breakfast at 7:45. Then he went to work at 8:00.
Tom was an extraordinary man who did extraordinary things.
