This exceptional runabout is totally original.
I purchased this boat with cottage in 1998 from the original owner.
I had a number of neighbours wanting to buy it from me, as this boat was known for its reliability and overall condition. The only work I have done is to repaint and varnish it to get it back to its original condition. In hindsight, I would have removed the old registration numbers that were painted on and instead would have put more original numbers on the boat.

The integrity of this boat is flawless, there is no rot whatsoever.

If you notice in the picture, the only flaw is the original owner for some reason drilled a hole in the dash in order to put in the original speedometer or fish finder, and that is how it's been left. This could be covered up however by a grill, radio, fishfinder, etc., whatever the new owner would prefer.

Now to the motor.
This is the reason I am selling this boat. After two flawless seasons of use, the motor lost horsepower. I took it in a number of times for repair. The first time they replaced the coil, which was not the problem. I had the second coil replaced and that wasn't the problem either. The third time the carburetor was rebuilt, seals and points replaced and that wasn't the problem. When I brought it back for the fourth time, they said they had it fixed.
Unfortunately for me it wasn't.

After losing that whole season I took it to a second mechanic. After waiting three frustrating months he put in a stator that wasn't quite original but seemed to do the trick. It ran perfectly for four or five times with full horsepower. After the fifth time it went back to the original lack of horsesepower. After putting $700.00 into this motor I realized there is not a competent boat mechanic in this area. That is my only reason for selling this boat.
If you know of anyone who can work on older boats, you're set.

It is a 1968, 40 horsepower Evinrude motor.

In closing, I love this boat and I hope I don't regret selling it when I look back on it.
