Welcome to my homepage ! I consider myself a commoner in the crowd. With no special qualities to write or tell about. However, if you are interested here is my brief profile sketch.

Presently, I am a faculty at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras . My areas of research interest are acoustics and vibration. My general interests span in broad areas of Mechanics. I am also passionate about Mathematics - both pure and applied version.

My schooling was at Don Bosco Liluah . My undergraduate education was at Government Engineering College, Jalpaiguri under North Bengal University. After passing B.E. in 2000, I joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore for the M.Sc(Engg) programme. Herein, I worked under the joint guidance of Prof. R. Pratap and Prof. V. R. Sonti. On completion of the programme in 2002, I had a brief stint in the industry working for an automotive company. I was working in the NVH group here from December 2002 to December 2003. From January 2004, I was back at IISc, Bangalore pursuing my Ph.D in the Department of Mechanical Engineering under the guidance of Prof. V. R. Sonti. My Ph.D research topic was on vibro-acoustics of fluid-filled shell structures. The work involved asymptotic analysis. After completion of my Ph.D in 2009, I again had an industrial experience due to my occupation in a Multi national company based in pune. I was working in the Modeling & Simulation group there to find solutions for their NVH related problems. In March 2010, I gave up this job to pursue a life long career in academics.
