1966 Mustang Restomod
About my Mustang:
- It sports a 302, bored .040 over(308), stock bottom end with ARP hardware, hypereutectic pistons, early 351 windsor heads with 1.84/1.54 valves, 9.8:1 compression, double roller timing set, Milodon hi-vol water pump, Crane Cams Energizer 284H, Weiand Action Plus intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb., tri-y headers, 2 1/2 inch exhaust with H pipe and Flowmasters
- The transmission is a T5 from '92 5.0 mustang, so far it still has the stock clutch and pressure plate. The overdrive allows me to get 22 mpg on the interstate, doing 75 mph at 2000 rpm.
- The front disc brakes are from a '75 Granada, it was an easy swap. I needed to convert to five lug stuff any, as the car was originally a straight six. The rearend and rear discs are from a '77 Lincoln Versailles. This was more of a reliability upgrade, I'm tired of breaking eight inch rears! It also features nice disc brakes, braided stainless lines, and 3.25 gears.
- The suspension was converted to V8 spec steering parts, 620 lb. lowering coils up front, mid eye four leaves in the back, KYB shocks all around, 1
- The paint color is from a late model GM pickup, its called indigo blue metallic. I shaved all the emblems for a smooth look, and added a 2 1/2" cowl induction hood.
